Emma Goldman was an anarchist thinker, writer, and political activist whose work shaped debates on freedom, labor, feminism, and civil liberties. Born in the Russian Empire, she became one of the most influential radical voices of the twentieth century. She died in Toronto in 1940 and was buried at Forest Home Cemetery.
